BIO
MANCIE, led by Andrea Fischman, the singer, guitarist and songwriter, has always liked to do things differently. "My creative heroes are Kurt Cobain, Chrissy Hynde, David Bowie and Annie Leibovitz," she says. While her high school friends were at the mall, Andrea was playing her guitar on the streets of Boston where she grew up and made money playing her songs for passersby. While still in high school, MANCIE was offered a record deal with a major label distributed by Fort Apache Records on the basis of a single, incendiary live show. The scrapbook chronicles the rich MANCIE history.
Andrea has taken her act to the streets of the world busking in cities such as Prague, Rome, Paris and Barcelona. Moving to New York City, Fischman reformed MANCIE with the current line up featuring Alex Cardoza on bass and Mark Feldman on drums. Imagine the bastard step child that might have hatched from a threesome sexcapade between AC/DC, the Pretenders and Nirvana and you've got an idea of their sound. Onstage, MANCIE is highly charged and alive with passion!!! |
