What do you do when you have a house crammed full of musical instruments, notebooks overflowing with songs, and a reputation for playing radioactive live sets to fans across the U.S.? You make the purest, most intense musical statement you can muster.

With their self-titled April 2010 release, the electric roots-rock quartet 28 North has assembled a timeless collection of songs, each one handpicked from their crowd-tested catalog of over 250. To capture the richness and intensity of their acclaimed performances, the band headed to a studio near their hometown of Pittsburgh and played their music live, all together in one big room. Relying on their uncanny musical compatibility (rather than studio trickery) to get the perfect sound, 28 North has crafted a record that all but guarantees that spirits are raised and hips are shaken.
Emerging from a friendly songwriting rivalry within the band, 28 North's offerings are an amalgam of details and influences that the band worked hard to perfect. "These songs had time to form, room to breathe, and became something that really evolved into an all-inclusive sound that's kind of our own," says frontman and guitarist Mike Lindner.

The album's 12 songs traffic in a kind of nostalgia that's always in style, wrangling a twin-guitar sound and expressive, multi-part harmonies into a tour de force of melody-making. 28 North is chock full of attitude, from the swaggering, chunky guitars of "Go Get Her" to the funky inflections of "Pride," and the wistful, up-beat intonations of "The Shine." As The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review put it, the album has "more musical colors than a chameleon on a rainbow."

Mastered under the supervision of the legendary George Marino (Arctic Monkeys, Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi), the album is a sinfully good listen, as much of a party record as a statement of purpose from four young men (and best friends) who grew up wanting to do nothing else except play music for people. The four members of the band — Michael Lindner, Alex Stanton, Jonathan Colman, and Tyler Bond — have been putting on epic, crowd-pleasing shows all around Pennsylvania, and are gaining traction across the U.S, from New York to California.

An ever-growing mob of fans has been coming out to watch 28 North perform with groups like Dave Matthews Band, Crash Kings, and Blues Traveler. The band has recently expanded their reputation by playing shows on iconic rock stages at the Whiskey A Go Go in L.A, Chicago's House of Blues, New York's CMJ, and Austin's SXSW. In January, the band was honored to perform during a residency at the Sundance Film Festival.

The stars are aligning for 28 North, just as they embark on a 50-date tour to support their new release. Armed with that record, a rapidly expanding fan base, and their boundless charisma, it's only a matter of time before "28 North" is blazing from the stadium lights.
